I've been tutoring for over a decade, starting back in 8th grade when I began helping classmates with homework and test prep. In high school, I founded a free tutoring program where I worked one-on-one and in small groups with students in geometry, algebra I, algebra II, and Spanish writing. That experience taught me early on how to break down problems in different ways depending on how someone learns. Some students need the visual approach, others need to walk through the logic step by step.
