I graduated with an M.S. in applied mathematics from Northwestern University in 1970 and then worked as a mathematician at Exxon for 7 years. Feeling that I really wanted to teach, I got a teaching certificate and then taught math in high school for 30 years. The last 21 years I taught AP Calculus A/B and B/C.
