As a teacher, I delight in the challenge of simplifying a complicated topic. Many topics in math and science are far from simple; however, there is often a way to explain them in a less complicated way and then layer the rigor over time. Discovering how to do this and helping my students along a journey of competence in math and science is what led me to my life-long dream of teaching. I am not unusually gifted in math or science, but I love to learn and I have an intense interest in discovery.
