My experience in tutoring comes from my years teaching college math courses. I would have office hours where students came to get 1-1 help. Also I often stayed after class to answer questions. Sometimes students felt more comfortable asking questions in person rather than in the class. I was a part time adjunct professor at Rochester Institute of Technology for about 10 years.
